Buying a new furnace system is a big decision, probably one of the largest upgrade expenses in the lifetime of your home. There are many things to consider during the purchase process. Our sales consultant will guide you through the options to help you make the right choice, based on your budget and the size of your home. Once you have the right furnace, you’ll enjoy a more comfortable home, lower utility bills, and confidence that you made the right decision.
When deciding to purchase new equipment, you need to consider several key factors, such as energy efficiency, performance, reliability, and cost options that are available.
Like so many modern innovations, we take gas forced-air furnace heating for granted. The warm air that whispers continually from floor, wall and ceiling registers can lull us into a false sense of security. Then a huge gas bill arrives, or the system begins to weaken or not produce the amount of heat we need. Then we realize that basic maintenance was called for–just cleaning the air filter could cut heating costs 5 to 15 percent. Or perhaps it’s time to replace that old and inefficient gas furnace.
There are a number of options to consider, including high-efficiency systems that can reduce utility costs 20 to 30 percent. Our consultant will cover all these options with you during a visit to your home.
Repair or Replace Your Furnace/Heating System?
If it’s the first time you’ve run into problems, or needed to install a new heating system, you might be wondering just what it is, and what all it entails. The gas furnace is part of your home’s “heating, ventilation, and air conditioning” (HVAC) system, or simply, its climate control. If you’re having issues with your current system, it will create problems you’ll notice right away.
Stagnant air that sits at uncomfortable temperatures and creates hot spots in some rooms and cold spots in others, are just a few of the problems that you could run into with your furnace if it’s not installed properly or if it breaks down. Other, less noticeable, problems that your heating system could cause are things such as energy loss – a furnace that runs inefficiently will use more energy than needed and that energy will be wasted, unnecessarily skyrocketing your utility bills.
Not hiring an HVAC contractor is not an option if you need your furnaced replaced; installation is simply not a job for even the most talented and knowledgeable DIY-er. The trick is to know which HVAC company is going to be the right one for you and sell you the best heating system for your needs.
Current Heating Assessment
Pickerington Heating & Cooling will begin with an assessment of your current gas forced-air heating system, then determine the size of the system needed to adequately heat your home. Once the size of the heating system is calculated, our consultant will review with you the desired quiet level for the new system and your budget amount to help determine the best fit for your needs.
Our consultant will make recommendations for specific brands and models to match your requirements. We sell and service all the major brands like Trane, Carrier, Ruud, Rheem, Amana and Bryant. Once you’ve arrived at a decision on which equipment best meets your needs, he’ll cover payment options for your new system and discuss financing options available.
Our representative will provide a written price quote on the spot. If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll schedule the installation for your new gas furnace, usually within a few days of the meeting.
Installation in Your Home
Assuming your home is already equipped with an existing central heating system, installation in a typical home in the Grove City area will take about one full day. We’ll assign the necessary technicians to complete the job efficiently and quickly to assure your family’s comfort and safety. Although we try to work as quietly as possible, expect some noise during the installation process. We do ask that you restrain pets and children from the work area so we can complete the heating system installation as effectively as possible.
Our goal is to leave your home and its grounds better than we found it. We have a cleanup procedure in place to ensure no construction debris or packaging is left behind, and a completion/inspection checklist to ensure we cross all our t’s and dot all our i’s.
When we’re all done, you’ll be able to immediately enjoy the benefits of your new gas-fired heating system.
